A mixed bag!
The girls and I drove to my parents yesterday. A 6 hr drive that took about 7 1/2 which I guess isnt bad. We left at 9:25 in the morning and drove about a half and hour and then I stopped for drive thru McD's. I ordered than realized I didnt have my credit card. I pulled over and looked through my whole suitcase and then my purse. I finally found it, pulled back in line and the lady said Im glad you found it but your breakfast is free! Full of excitement and thankfullnes to God we hit the road again.
We stopped for a potty break, gas, lunch, atm and then we made it here. The girls were great and watched alot of movies. I talked on the phone a majority of the time. Thank God for great technology.
We got here around 4 where we were greeted by my Mom, Dad and neice Caitlyn. What a great reception!
Jim called about 6:20 and said Ive got bad news, weve been robbed. Apparently our 2 laptops and video cameras were stolen but more than that our lives were violated. My biggest regret is that all of our digital pictures were on the laptops. Fortunately alot of them are on Shutterfly! Jim said the detectives were at our house for 3 hours. We moved to this area because of good schools, low crime etc. Even when I read the police blotter there is about 3 items a week which generally include shoplifting at the Walmart.
Would you do 3 things for me:
1. Right now make sure all your windows are locked. They attempted to get in 3 different places causing destruction but they were able to get into a window that wasnt locked. The former homeowner must have had it unlocked because we have never opened our windows.
2. Make sure that ALL of your digital pictures are backed up. I will be doing this from now on!
3. Say a pray for Jim as he deals with the broken glass and the ransacked house.
Thank you so much!
Kari-That is just awful that your house was robbed! I feel sick reading about it. I hope that your family and friends might be able to replace some copies of photos that you may have lost. I'll be keeping you and your famly in my prayers and hope that your property is recovered.
