What does your name mean?
Ive been reading the Yada Yada prayer group books. In the book one of the ladies has enjoyed getting to know what each person's name means. On a whim today I decided to find out what the girls names mean.
Olivia Grace: Olivia is derived from Olive which i think of the olive branch extended in peace. Ive always thought of her name as Grace and Peace. When I looked up what grace means the site I went to said it means "favor or blessing." How awesome to remember that she is a blessing of peace! She really is such a sweet little girl and I think her name fits her beautifully!
Ava Elise: I love the name Ava was a bit discouraged that it mean Bird. I knew that Elise meant "consecrated to God" and that was very important to me. In the book there is a baby born and her name is close to Ava's. They said her name meant life in Hebrew. Well hello that just made me cry! Unbeknownst to me I chose a name that when I called her by name I was speaking over her to live. Her middle name in the HEbrew means "God's promise". Wow! This special name for a child I didnt even plan to be in our family but God knew and He had a perfect name just for her! Ava Elise means "to live God's promise."
My name Kari Alicia means pure and kind!
I hope I live up to my name too!
I love your post today. How neat to know what Olivia and Ava's names mean. I think you also live up to your name. I was just telling Claudia how you make finding things a game and are always singing. You are fun to be around, well except the fact your my sister and we MUST fight!!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya, Stephanie
Kari Alicia is Greek. Kari means "that thing of sweetness or fondness" and Alicia means "captivating". So I named you "captivating sweetness." And I didn't miss it at all, I was right on target. BTW, Stephanie Dawn means "crown of the morning". And that was iffy when she was growing up, but wow! has she ever grown into that name. She crowns our mornings with joy!
