More issues!
As if the inclement weather wasnt enough, the ice in our area caused the electricity to go out. The trees were bent all the way to the ground and when you stepped outside you could hear the tree limbs breaking and falling. Quite an eerie sound for sure!
We left our house in search of a warmer and less boring place. My parents headed for the church and we contemplated what to do. At first we were going to a local hotel but they couldnt guarantee that they would have electricity. We talked to a local TV reporter who suggested that the drive to Tulsa was slick but managable. Against my better judgment, Jim decided to take the risk to stay with his parents.
It was a treacherous drive, where at times visibility was very poor. Fortunately the girls slept and Jim safely navigated the way. Just want to go on record that if our trip to Denver is anything like this one, you can count me out for sure!
Now we are in Tulsa with some of our things. A load of boxes has already been sent to Denver and should be there by Wednesday. I sure hope we get there when it does! I think we are planning on leaving tomorrow as the weather is supposed to clear up but be extrememly cold! Of course we have to go back home and get the rest of our stuff and then turn around and head out. Fortunately Jim is at peace with getting back to Denver when ever we do. He has quite the resolve not to go back there with out his family! So sweet!
Wow, I heard the ice in Muskogee was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad. Fortunately we haven't lost power, although parts of Broken Arrow have had electricity issues.
