A year ago today. . .
Ava was born. Oh how I wanted her not to be born today. I was so scared. I was in the OR all by myself except for the awesome nurses and doctors. One of the residents held my hand during the whole thing, bless her. Then my little Ava was born all of 1lb 6oz. Her first nurse Maxine was such a sweetheart. She said we were expecting a vent but that little girl didnt need it. She really surprised everyone. She looked just like a puppy when she was born, so sweet and cuddly. And today she is crawling, pull up and her first word is Momma. How fitting! Yesterday I was trying to ignore her and she was crying "Momma, momma, momma." (I dont ignore her very well, or often.) I love her so much. And to think that she wasnt in our plans. She was a surprise! I am so glad that God had other plans, because I dont think my day could be any sweeter. I love my sweet girls. Their strength reminds me of a very sweet little boy who taught me how to love. Dylan their big brother but was smaller than them at 1lb 2oz was an angel. Sometimes I wonder if Dylan came back to me as Ava. Silly thought but she reminds me so much of him. I never had that thought with Olivia.
On another note, Olivia gets her splints today. I am praying that all goes well!
Happy Birthday Ava. I found you from my Blogging Preemie Parents list. I am gald to hear Ava is doing so well.
