Ava Says
Last night Olivia had a Pretend Sleepover Birthday Party. Ava and I had a date at Steak and Shake while Jim worked. Ava is so much fun to hang out with. For a Saturday night it was pretty packed.
While we waited for our food we watched the servers coming and going. The manager did not have the uniform of the wait staff. In fact he had a shirt and tie on and looked like a customer. He went to the food window and picked up an order. Ava asked "Is that man hungry because he just got his own food?" It was a little hard to explain why he had different clothes on.
Her next observation involved pointing which is initially embarrassing. "That man is a big man." (Great!) She was pointing at a waiter. I asked her what she meant. "He must drink milk because he is so tall!" Completely laughing and so very glad the conversation didn't turn another way!
Our food came and why she has to go potty when she sees her food is beyond me. When we came back she kept talking about missing the music. I had no idea what she was talking about until I remembered that when we were in Atlanta we went to Johnny Rockets. There they sing and dance. I suppose that Steak and Shake resembles Johnny Rockets. She had quite a few memories from the Atlanta trip that began spilling out of her little mind.
When we were close to finishing up, she began experimenting with salt and pepper on her mac & cheese. Because I am a fun mom, I let her do what she wanted as long as she tried it. Her favorite was eating the salty mac and cheese. Great! What a fun night!
I know I had a great time with Ava at First Watch. She is soooo cool. I am looking forward to another time with her.
