The Bathroom: The next amusement park?. . .
We had a lovely time at church and were invited to a newcomers lunch, which meant we didn't get to go out for lunch today. When the dinner hour rolled around we decided that we could go out tonight. Honestly, What was I thinking?
We headed to Texas Road House which was a 30 minute wait. Oh I forgot to mention that Ava fell asleep in the car and that was her only nap for the day. We went to the restaurant next door Uno's, which is really great and much quieter.
Ava was still asleep for the first 10 minutes and then she awoke. She was actually fairly pleasant considering it could have gone either way. Olivia on the other hand all of the sudden got inconsolable and I'm not really sure why. Oh wait, she might have been tired. I asked her "Do I need to take you outside and spank you?" Ava corrected me and said "You mean the bathroom." Apparently Ava has heard that before. Fortunately we can still threaten that. Olivia continued to cry and off to the bathroom we went. Then she tells me "I'm crying because I need to go to the bathroom." WHATEVER!
Olivia is now a big girl and by that I mean Miss Independence. She needs her privacy in the potty and and can really do it all herself. That is a blessing and a curse for sure. Of course Ava was fresh on our heels needing to go to the bathroom too. RIGHT! Why doesn't she have this interest at home so we can get rid of the pull-ups. (Different post for sure!)
Back to the amusement park: the flushing toilets, the cool automatic soap dispensers and the automatic paper towel dispensers or hand dryers. I might have left out that our food was sitting on the table during this blast-o-rama, getting cold! Woo hoo!
Finally we went back to the table and enjoyed our meal. Surprisingly we had a great time. Just so you know I had a salad so it was supposed to be cold. They also had fresh squeezed lemonade that I could not get enough of!
Moral of the story: Save your money and take your preschoolers to the . . . Public Bathroom!
That's too funny! I can see The Bean doing something like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kari. Your precious duo brings out your best comedic flare. What a joy to read your escapades. I remember thinking how nice that we had girls so Judy could do all the bathroom duty when we were out. But I don't remember such funny stories. You always give me a smile that's pregnant with a burst of laughter.
ReplyDeleteOh the joy of parenthood eh??
ReplyDeleteWe will be printing a t-shirt of "Ashton's Restroom Tour '08." She loves all the fun things, and doesn't quite know what to do when she waves her hand in front of the paper towel dispenser and it doesn't roll some out for her!
ReplyDeleteBTW, we've officially quit and she's back in diapers as of tonight! One too many potty panties for me! We'll see if this backfires!
