Twitterific

I am really fascinated with Twitter. Twitter is the social media that lets you describe what you are doing in 140 characters or less. On several occasions I have mentioned a brand name or service. The next thing I know the mentioned not only answers me back but follows me.

The first time this happened was Trader Joe's. TJ's is a really cool grocery store that does little advertising. Someone made a video about it that is quite clever. Anyway, one night I made some Orange Mandarin Chicken that I got at TJ's which was very good. I twittered about it and the next thing I know TJ's is now following me. They often retweet what others are saying about TJ's and I have found some products I might not have picked up.

Another instance of Twitter was when I had Internet issues. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the cable company which included 4 different people. It totally made me angry and I used the cable company's name. Someone from the company sent me a tweet to ask if they could help. How cool is that! (Yes, it was an outage in my area but the techs had me jumping through all kinds of hoops before they figured it out!)

From now on I will be tweeting about good and bad experience with customer services. You just never know who is listening.
