Heater issues

A story from Monday night/Tuesday morning:

Around 5pm Monday night I noticed it was getting colder in our house. I went over to the thermostat, saw that it was set for 74 but it was only 71 in the house. Puzzled, I went and put on a jacket. I told Jim it was pretty cold and not sure what to do. He brought home a little space heater from work. Fortunately it was night time so it is easier to bundle up.

I did call our Home Warranty place who said they would send someone out the next morning. Let's just say that the night went by very slowly and the temperature went down quickly. At 5am I started thinking what a mess the basement was and that someone would have to go through to look at the heater. I noticed it was now 63 in the house as I got a glass of water.

Still pondering the basement, I remembered that the girls and I had been down there working on my project. Then I remembered that the heater has a light switch on it. I have always wondered what it was there for and then I thought I bet the girls turned it off. I ran down to the basement and sure enough it was off. A quick flip of the switch and BOOM the heater was on. In an hour our house was warm.

The home warranty people had called the heat/air people to come to our house. I did wonder if they had the right number because at the time we didnt have a home phone number. When the lady called me in the morning she said, I called a (xxx) number and got a very perplexed guy who finally gave me your number. I knew right away it was my dad. He called later on to tell me what a hard time he gave them but rightly so. (Thanks Dad!)

One other topic: My friends Jill and Karen should be landing in Korea shortly to get Max. I am so very excited!
