Christmas is already at our house!

We had fairly decent weather yesterday, sunny but a little cold. So my parents decided to put up the Christmas lights. We live fairly close to a big light display so it almost feels like a requirement to have lights.

Dad and I figured out how many feet of lights we would need, bought them, and on the ladder dad went. He did pretty well putting them up until it came to the highest peak of the roof. We didnt have a long enough ladder so would he go up on the roof. Well he got a little scared. I offered to go on the house to help but I was totally bluffing. We brainstormed on how we would finish the lights. Finally my parents got a taller ladder and wallah Christmas came to our house.

A little background here:As a child we didnt have lights on the house so this is a fairly new development in the last say 5 years or so. My dad was very adamant about no Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. He just hated those who had decortations up before that time etc. I think you get the picture! Anway, not only do we have lights on the house but yes siree they are even turned on. I said Are you sure you dont want to wait until after Thanksgiving. Nope, I worked way to hard on them not to turn them on now!

Christmas seems different and more exciting now that I have my little girls. Its so much more alive and I cant wait to share with them daily on the miracle of Jesus coming as a baby to save us.
