Blog Hop '09
(Pardon the underlined words. I don't know why it's doing that!)
This weekend over 1500 bloggers are meeting in Chicago for a Blogher convention. While it would be great to meet bloggers in real life, Blog Hop is a great way to virtually meet new people. Truly the reason I am doing it is to inspire to write more on my blog.
First let me introduce myself. My name is Kari mom to Olivia 5 and Ava 4 and wife to Jim. My family has gone through so much in a short 7 years. All 3 of my kids were born premature. My son Dylan was born 7 years ago at 25 weeks and lived 5 days. Olivia was born at 26 weeks and Ava at 27 weeks.
I love, love, love my kids although currently I find myself counting down the days until school is out! After experience the NICU ride 3 times, I enjoy reaching out to people going through the ride. I have gone back to our NICU and help start a support group for parents. We try to have a pizza lunch twice a month where parents of NICU grads talk to the current parents. In October we are attempting to have our first NICU reunion/walk. The invitations go out this month and I'm a little overwhelmed because crazily I am in charge of it!
There are so many other facets of me and my blog. I primarily use it to journal my girls lives. I have made 2 blog books which are super cool! I also love twitter and you can follow me at @karisramblings
For my non twitter friends Musings of a House wife wrote a great tutorial on twitter if you are curious!

Wow...that's wonderful what you're doing to help other NICU parents. Tough trials just seem hopeless until you find others who are/have been in that same boat. {{Hugs}} your way!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful children you have! That is so great that you help parents with children in the NICU, I am sure it makes a huge difference to them to have such support!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to "meet" you!
Hi Kari nice to meet you. I am following you on twitter as a49erfangirl. That's awesome of what your doing for the NICU parents and children. My daughter was born at 36 weeks and well during labor they had a NIC doctor there I was terrified. Thankfully I didn't have to experience the NICU. I think it's great that your offer such support. Stopping by from the blog hop to say hello.
