For my MOPS girls, especially Sarah!
Yesterday was MOPs meeting and it was our table's turn to bring food. I think I am surprised with myself about how much I enjoy cooking and most especially for other people. MOPS is a great time to try things that I might enjoy without the temptation of eating all of it by myself.
I made the infamous cake balls inspired by Bakerella. The first time I made them I documented it with my girls here. I have made them with and without sticks. My favorite way was when I dipped them in mint chocolate. My brother in law said they reminded him of thin mint girl scout cookies. That was the ultimate compliment! (He doesn't read my blog but he is awesome anyway!)
The other thing I made was a recipe from the Pioneer Woman. Let me just introduce her to you if you haven't been so lucky to "meet" her on the web. She lives on a cattle ranch with her husband the Marlboro Man. She is an incredible photographer and cook. In fact when she cooks she takes pictures of every single step. That is my favorite way to see if I want to invest the time to cook it. She just came out with her first cook book. I have it and I love it! Her cook book is just $10.75 on Amazon. The cook book is in full color and has some amazing pictures.
On to the recipe that I made from the Pioneer Woman's website. I made bacon onion cheddar biscuits. They were so yummy. Since I was making them for a big crowd I made them in a mini muffin pan. I wish I had pictures of mine but they are all gone!
While I am linking to other websites here is one of our favorite new books. The Jesus Storybook Bible:Every Story Whispers His Name. This book tells the stories of the Bible and in every one references Jesus. Honestly every story makes me cry and see how much God loves us! Each story is about 4 small pages and my girls are just now able to sit still for the stories. Of course my enthusiasm of the book fuels there's as well.
One more thing, especially for Jayme (because she leaves comments). This is where I got the necklace with my kids's names on it. Bella Button Designs.
Wow! That Pioneer Woman's recipes are amazing! And you were right about her photos! I'm making those carrots with thyme tonight. Okay, I'll comment all the time if you keep linking me to really cool websites like that! Plus mentioning me in the title of this entry kind guilted me into writing something. You're wonderful!
